This property in East Harling, Norfolk had been vandalised with oil splatter.

The incident was covered by the local BBC and ITV networks.

The type of oil used meant that Brick Tinting was not an option so Remedial Repair devised a unique repair solution to reinstate the brickwork facade.

The oil had penetrated deep into the soft mud brick and lime mortar joint and specialist oil cleaning could not resolve the issue. We carried out a Brick Tinting sample, but the tint would not take to the brickwork due to the damage that the oil had made to the porosity of the brickwork.

The solution was for us to clad the brickwork in brick slips using the ARKPRO Brick Cladding System. This enabled us to create a new brickwork facade that we could then colour tint to match the original adjoining brickwork.

The solution was brick and mortar tinting, following some localised brick and mortar repairs.

We firstly completed a sample panel for approval by both the school and the local planners, focusing on creating a colour blend that would improve the colour depth and consistency of the brickwork, whilst maintaining its age and character.

Once we had completed brick and mortar repairs we then proceeded to colour tint all the bricks and mortar, working around tight timescales.

A great transformation that really brings life back into the building.
